The living area has two two-seater couches, television, dvd and cd player, and a collection of books, dvd's and games to muse the days away. A feature of this area is the stone open fire , a terra-cotta floor, rugs and interesting leadlight windows and fittings to add to the charm.

Castlemaine is renowned for its reputation for having the largest arts community in Victoria. Stroll through the botanical gardens, designed and planted before the Melbourne Botanical gardens. Visit the prestigious portrait collection at the Art Gallery . The Historical Society boasts a rich library of information to excite the most curious of visitors.
